This paper has two equally important research objectives. The first aim of the is to identify key areas addressed in scientific publications that simultaneously relate blockchain, energy, and sustainability. In turn, identification green these second aim. indicated aims were achieved on basis a bibliometric review 205 from 2017-2023 (Scopus database). By means systematic literature review, 25 different identified. classic identified 18 (e.g. blockchain). At same time, no issue was as area. results can inspire researchers looking for gaps around blockchain sustainability issues. Among recommendations stakeholders, need further technology, development regulatory framework, or educational issues highlighted.

ABSTRACT This study examines patenting patterns to identify inefficiencies in innovation systems and proposes a blockchain‐based solution advance sustainable development goals (SDGs) 4, 8, 9, 17. Using dataset of 13,910 patent documents, the research employs multi‐step methodology: landscape analysis, network structural equation modeling (SEM). Our findings indicate that patents linked non‐competitive technologies low originality scores are more likely become inactive. Furthermore, identifies several factors contributing efficiency system, including closed technology transfer processes weak collaborative synergies among stakeholders. To address these challenges, rewards system is proposed foster beneficial relationships stakeholders, supporting practices. enhances our understanding theory provides insights for policymakers, linking achieving SDGs 17 through innovation.
