Herein,
we
report
a
new
synthetic
strategy
for
2-(pyridin-2-yl)phenols
and
2-(pyridin-2-yl)anilines
catalyzed
by
Pd/C–ethylene
system.
The
starting
materials,
2-(pyridin-2-yl)cyclohexan-1-ones,
can
be
easily
prepared
the
reaction
of
substituted
pyridine
N-oxide
cyclohexanones.
most
useful
feature
this
method
is
that
both
are
synthesized
independently
using
same
compound
as
material,
simply
adding
or
not
nitrogen
source.

photocatalyst
[RuCl2(p-cymene)]2
TM
catalyst
visible-light
irradiation
at
room
temperature.
hydroxylation
reaction
works
well
wide
range
substrates
containing
electron-withdrawing
substituents
could
be
applied
to
late-stage
functionalization
ortho-hydroxyl
metabolite
generation
drug
compounds-containing
single
reaction.
