Abstract We have reported an effective, metal free, one‐pot methodology for synthesising benzofuro[3,2‐ c ]quinolines via a Pictet‐Spengler reaction under mild conditions in open air. Our approach has few advantages over the traditional two‐component synthesis as it is step and atom economic, environmentally benign convergent synthetic method. discussed here good substrate scope of this novel methodology.
