Reforestation plays a vital role in restoring the soil degradation areas. However, mechanisms by which different restoration approaches affect properties and microbial communities remain unclear. Aiming to understand interactions between plant species, properties, approaches, we investigated community using nontargeted metabolomics explore how reforestation approach affects physicochemical metabolites, communities. The results showed that approach, layer, their interactive effects significantly affected organic carbon, total nitrogen, dissolved available phosphorus concentrations, root traits. diversity composition of bacterial fungal natural (NR) were from those artificial mono-plantations, network more significant NR than plantations. A clear separation metabolites plantations was observed metabolite analysis. Two pathways, linoleic acid metabolism, valine, leucine, isoleucine biosynthesis, regulated mono-plantations NR. Different traits correlated with dominant taxa four approaches. 13-L-hydroperoxylinoleic acid, 13-S-hydroxyoctadecadienoic homovanillin, 9,10-epoxyoctadecenoic highest correlation network. Partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) shows root-mediated primary factors affecting among is directly roots subsoil indirectly topsoil. We conclude through rather metabolites.

For the management of water cycle, it is essential to comprehend evapotranspiration (ET) and how changes over time space, especially in relation vegetation. Here, using Priestley–Taylor Jet Propulsion Laboratory (PT-JPL) model, we explored spatiotemporal variations ET across different scales during 1982–2018 Wuding River Basin. We also quantitatively evaluated driving mechanisms climate vegetation on changes. Results showed that estimate by PT-JPL model good agreement (R2 = 0.71–0.84) with four products (PML, MOD16A2, GLASS, FLDAS). Overall, increased significantly at a rate 3.11 mm/year (p < 0.01). Spatially, WRB higher southeast lower northwest. Attribution analysis indicated restoration (leaf area index) was dominant driver (99.93% basin area, p 0.05), exhibiting both direct effects indirect mediation through Vapor Pressure Deficit. Temperature influences emerged predominantly feedbacks rather than climatic forcing. These findings establish as key regional ET, providing empirical support for optimizing revegetation strategies semi-arid environments.

This study aims to present a methodological approach based on the objectives of Nature Restoration Law and concept Forest Landscape identify areas that are best suited for implementation Nature-based Solutions improvement landscape habitat status in city Campobasso (1028.64 km2). Using open data (ISPRA ecosystem services regional land use capability), an expert (questionnaire), multicriteria analysis (Analytical Hierarchy Process), Total Ecosystem Services Value index was determined as weighted additive sum criteria considered. The then classified into eight clusters, “Cropland” extracted. Cluster 1 croplands (740.09 Ha) were identified be allocated since they those characterized by fewer provisioning, while 8 (482.88 valuable preserved. It possible compare “Forest” currently area with future scenario, represented occupied today forest addition croplands. A conducted; it showed greater dispersion fragmentation patches but also connectivity thus ecological functionality patches.
