The present study examined optimal dietary patterns of eight plant-based foods for preventing chronic diseases, including hypertension, stroke, myocardial infarction, and diabetes, using data from the China Health Nutrition Survey (CHNS). We applied generalized estimating equations to assess time-based changes gender differences, residual balancing weights control time-varying confounders, employed a restricted cubic spline model explore dose-response relationships by gender. findings suggested that high intake vegetables whole grains, along with moderate amounts fruits, fungi algae, could help reduce risk developing these four diseases simultaneously. Additionally, men benefit refined grain consumption, while women should consider increasing their nuts seeds. Our results indicated adopting diet provide non-linear protective effects against magnitude this protection varying

Background/Objectives: The incidence of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), a condition linked to the ongoing obesity pandemic, is rapidly increasing worldwide. In turn, its multifactorial etiology consistently associated with low dietary quality. Changing macronutrient and phytochemical quality via incorporating cooked common bean into an obesogenic diet formulation has measurable health benefits on occurrence both hepatic steatosis in C57BL/6 mice. Methods: A cohort mice were randomized experimental diets containing multiple concentrations bean. primary endpoint this study was comparing metabolomic analyses from plasma different treatment groups. Additionally, RNA sequencing protein expression analysis nanocapillary immunoelectrophoresis used elucidate signaling mediators involved. Results: Herein, global profiling identified sphingolipids as lipid subcategory which consumption exerted significant effects. Of note, C16 C18 ceramides significantly decreased bean-fed animals. Hepatic RNAseq data revealed patterns transcript genes involved sphingolipid metabolism that consistent metabolite profiles. Conclusions: Bean incorporation otherwise induces effects synthesis, biotransformation, degradation inhibit accumulation ceramide species exert pathological activity. These are mechanistic role for altered explaining how inhibits development MASLD.
