Evidence shows that the use of micromobility vehicles is currently skewed towards young men, who are more likely to adopt risky behaviours, such as fast or aggressive riding. However, research on travel behaviour founded GPS data has repeatedly failed disaggregate findings by gender, account for intertwined sociodemographic identities. In this study, we investigate how bike-share cyclists and private e-scooter riders navigate through Barcelona's cycling facilities, whether intersecting identities (in terms age parenthood) influence their performance. Using 911 GPS-tracked trips 89 participants, build a multilevel linear mixed effects model analyses speed at which travel. The results show gender gap particularly salient among users, while being almost non-existent cyclists. further indicates facilities riding speed, significantly explain users circulate city. Drawing theories performativity embodiment, argue pointing differences in might be explained women's unwillingness negotiate traffic tolerate harassment highly masculinised spaces. These contribute limited available knowledge objective from intersectional perspective, i.e. recognising complex way multiple forms discrimination associated with identity combine. We also provide valuable insights into design urban environments targeted policies can have diverse different users.

Shared electric scooter services (SESS) have gained popularity in many cities as an emerging mobility mode. However, SESS is attributed to low utilization rates some cities. In this context, the significance of users' satisfaction with provided services, along their loyalty, becomes particularly pronounced. Therefore, it essential evaluate service quality (SQ) from perspective and understand its effect on which are critical factors for long-term durability success service. Thus, study examines determinants user loyalty toward SESS. For this, we conducted online survey among users Chicago. We analyzed responses using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) reflexive thematic analysis (TA). Our results confirm quality-value-satisfaction-loyalty paradigm indicate that perceptions SQ, including safety security, availability, interface, perceived affordability, significantly contribute enhancement Perceived value (hedonic value, utilitarian affordability) mediate impact SQ loyalty. Additionally, those who perceive cost-effective report higher levels. Furthermore, pro-environmental attitudes view environmentally friendly more likely derive hedonic exhibit The TA uncovers key challenges perspective, pricing, timing, end-trip facilities (e.g., parking), street pavement condition, vendor operational zoning, fleet quality, a specific emphasis GPS accuracy. These findings provide valuable insights into behavioral mechanisms, can be considered manifest improvement enhancing efficiency.

Micromobility is often presented as a sustainable, affordable, and active urban transport option, in comparison to motorised modes. Understanding users routing preferences could help policymakers adapt design facilities that attract myriad of micromobility users. Whereas previous research largely focused solely on the built infrastructure, ways which sociodemographic factors affect route choice infrastructure are unclear. This study examines how elements environment attributes influence selection 115 e-scooter bike-share Barcelona, Spain. We also compare participants' GPS-tracked trips shortest path they have followed develop multilevel model estimate decision deviate from path. The findings show rarely choose since related safety, accessibility aesthetics seem shape their wayfinding decisions. Urban mobility has undergone a transformation with the advent of micromobility vehicles, leading to multitude studies investigating factors that drive early adoption and sustainability equity implications. However, in context where local administrations struggle regarding how fit different systems within urban ecosystem, little is understood about political regulations impact users' modal choices This study aims shed light on differences between private e-scooters shared bikes Barcelona, city options face distinct regulatory frameworks, also understand influence an individual's choice these two modes micromobility. The employs self-reported intercept survey 651 users builds logistic binary regression model examine characteristics differentiate e-scooter bike adopters. Results indicate notable adopters suggest might play role determining mode. Furthermore, finds while both follow similar mode replacement paths, have higher potential keep away from cars. These findings contribute limited knowledge highlight policy design diverse population groups. As more cities are banning free-floating centres, it essential selective bans restrictive policies choices.

Electric micromobility, both as a private option and shared service, can represent an alternative to cars, particularly for given user groups (market segments) specific classes of travel distance. The paper explores the potential shifting from cars electric micromobility (specifically, e-bikes e-scooters) commuting trips, investigated through floating car data (FCD). methodology combines calibration random utility models (RUMs) subsequent simulation adoption FCD spanning entire city Rome (Italy). used RUM have been sourced online revealed preferences stated survey carried out between November 2020 January 2021. Socioeconomic factors, along with transport features (travel time, access monetary costs, perceived safety levels), enter into definition mode choice probability. first results showed that in Rome, demand could range 14% sample best case (low cost, high accessibility, road infrastructures level safety) about 2% worst (high low safety).

In this study, for the first time in literature as far we are aware, model e-scooter use frequency and purpose jointly, allowing multiple purposes. doing so, consider individual household sociodemographics psycho-social lifestyle considerations, well a residential location indicator. The analysis uses data collected through survey of users Washington, D.C., U.S., administered electronically between September 2021 December 2022. results from our indicate that gender, income earnings, motorized vehicle ownership household, green propensity, positive perception e-scooters, general, most important determinants frequency. Also, there distinct demographic groupings hedonic (leisure tourism-related) pursuits utilitarian (shopping, work/appointments, transit connections) pursuits. By understanding how changes key influencing variables can affect purpose, provide richer insights policy initiatives involving integration, perceptions marketing, sustainability, equity accessibility, mixed land-use practices.

In the post-sharing era, evolution of shared micro-mobility industry has transitioned from expanding market share to providing precise services. The focus on user satisfaction shifted a singular emphasis functional utility diversified product values. Product perceived value emerged as comprehensive factor for enhancing satisfaction, aiding companies in formulating services, mitigating urban resource wastage, and promoting sustainable development. From perspective value, this study combined analysis factors affecting interaction between these aspects carried out following two studies. Research No. 1: By mining review data app platforms related adopting latent dirichlet allocation (LDA) algorithm, we have initially identified 17 major users summarized into four research topics constituting value. 2: On basis 1, content American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) was expanded, model focusing products constructed. Afterwards, by using collected questionnaire surveys, structural equation modeling (SEM) used through SEM, which deployed establish an empirical analysis. It is found that (1) both expectation quality can positively affect interactive experience; (2) such expectation, quality, experience, subjective consciousness products, with delivering greatest influence; (3) direct positive effect users’ willingness continuously use but no significant satisfaction. These findings expand theoretical field micro-mobility, constitute suggestions development service promotion industry, provide new ideas methods transportation.
