Abstract This article argues for the importance of integrating a mobility perspective into urban greenspace planning and practice related to 2024 EU Nature Restoration Law. Street greenery can play an important multifunctional role in promoting ecosystem services functions, sustainable mobility, human health well-being. However, planners need more evidence on how street vegetation affects well-being during everyday active as well what type, where whom enhance vegetation. We discuss current advancements gaps literature these topics, identify key research priorities support restoration policy practice. These include: moving beyond dominant scientific thinking being place through space understanding exposure experience; use multiple metrics with attention temporal dynamics; integration objective subjective assessments; investigating further reducing environmental injustices.

This study addresses the critical gap in designing child-friendly school commuting routes mountainous cities like Chongqing, where steep terrain and complex infrastructure pose unique challenges to children’s safety accessibility. Combining Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) Kano model, we systematically evaluated 19 design elements across safety, interest, convenience dimensions through comprehensive field research surveys involving 611 participants. Our analysis identified emergency signage systems, street greening, parent pick-up points as pivotal optimization factors, while revealing significant improvement needs for vehicle speed limits anti-slip pavement. The findings demonstrate how context-specific, evidence-based solutions can effectively enhance experiences challenging urban environments, providing planners with a scientifically-grounded framework that adapts principles contexts. advances of planning by bridging current theoretical-practical divide offering actionable strategies tailored geographically constrained cities.

With the advancement of child-friendly urban planning initiatives, significance Active School Travel Spaces (ASTSs) in shaping development and promoting physical mental well-being children has become increasingly apparent. This research focuses on 151 public primary schools central area Lanzhou City. Utilizing Amap pedestrian route API, we establish a walking network, evaluate paths using spatial syntax street view recognition methods, analyze their influencing factors Geographic Detector model. The results show following: ① overall friendliness ASTSs City is moderate, with 44% school districts exhibiting low friendliness. ② distribution child ASTS exhibits “core-periphery” pattern. Anning District demonstrates higher compared to Chengguan Qilihe District, while Xigu lowest level ③ Different levels have different tendencies for access, safety, comfort. A high degree favors Low requirements safety ④ Population density transportation convenience exert significant positive impact friendliness, size district centrality negative impact. synergistic effects among these notably enhance explanatory power
