A vehicle routing problem in timber logistics incorporating a comprehensive carbon emission reduction strategy is proposed. Carbon based on an optimization model established to minimize the total transportation cost while reducing emissions and empty-loading mileage. To solve efficiently, hybrid algorithm that combines greedy with genetic featuring adaptive elimination mechanisms developed. The featured crossover mutation probabilities eliminates unsuitable individuals mechanisms, which improves searching efficiency quality of optimal solution. Numerical experiments are conducted verify feasibility proposed methods. results demonstrate reduces mileage travelled by 17.26% during about 38.71%. Based results, it concluded reasonable route planning can provide solid support improve economics, timeliness, environmental sustainability logistics, conducive realizing sustainable forestry supply chain.
