Background:
Excessive
use
of
empty
words
in

is
a
significant
impediment
to
effective
communication,
often
complicating
the
clarity

reducing
comprehensibility
scholarly

Purpose:
This
systematic
scoping
review
investigates
nature,
causes,
consequences
excessive
words,
alongside
strategies
for
mitigating
this
issue

differentiating
between
nuanced
connotations
‘verbosity’
‘wordiness’.
Methods:
Employing
detailed
search
strategy,
engaged
two
electronic
databases
–
Scopus
Google
Scholar,
initially
identifying
256
studies.
PRISMA-ScR

exclusion
criteria,

English-language
studies
directly
addressing
reduction
were
included.
Results:
The
synthesis
selected
research
revealed
that
while
widely
recognized
as
challenge
