Purpose Traditional designs might not withstand earthquake forces adequately, potentially leading to structural damage. This paper aims examine the impact of varying base slab mass and number rubber layers in isolators on performance isolation systems improve seismic buildings. Design/methodology/approach The isolated structure is modeled as a two-degree freedom system, its corresponding equation motion established. Displacement expressions for roof are derived using mode superposition method. Findings A system improves buildings’ behavior, particularly when higher layer numbers heavier assumed. At an excitation frequency 8 rad/s, increase from 9 11 led 30% reduction relative displacement. 6 40% displacement was observed passing (mb) 7.5 tons with damping ratios 12% 10% first second modes 30 lower 9.5% 4.2%. Originality/value high ratio significantly increases fixed-base building. However, do necessarily lead better performance. Besides, enhances dynamic response by shifting fundamental away frequency.
