This paper presents a generalized vibration-based multiple breathing crack localization technique in beams with an unknown number of cracks based on Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA). Localization is highly challenging inverse problem, as all these (more than two) might be similar state (either opening or closing state) at any particular time instant contrasting states (while some are opening, others during vibration. The level nonlinearity vibration response strongly dependent not only each size, and location but also the application driving force along cracked beam. concept varied input frequency excitation sources employed present work for identification over tedious traditional approach varying positions. major advantage using singular spectrum analysis that it can reliably isolate extract very low-amplitude nonlinear sensitive components (super harmonics intermodulation) being buried total pairwise eigenvalue property harmonic components. Investigations have been carried out by number, spatial locations, intensities cracks. Sensitivities associated measurement noise limited sensors investigated. results both numerical experimental investigations this concluded proposed SSA effectively localize closely spaced sparsely (i.e.,, spatially far apart) data-driven, works sensors, does need reference healthy measurements.

In this research work, different combinations of normal strength concrete (NSC), ultra-high-performance (UHPC), and steel fiber-reinforced UHPC (SFR-UHPC) with re-bars conventional carbon polymer (C-FRP) are used in a two-way square slab size 1000mm x 75mm subjected to 2500 mm free-fall impact loading. Experimental arrangement consisting 105 kg dropping weight the circular flat impacting face 40 diameter for carrying out test is modeled using high-fidelity physics-based finite element computer code, ABAQUS/Explicit-v.6.15. After validating experimental results NSC bars, analyses extended by replacing bars UHPC/SFR-UHPC C-FRP respectively, under same weight. Only remote (tension face) slabs provided re-bars. Widely employed available ABAQUS, Concrete Damage Plasticity model strain-rate effects has been entrusted simulating plastic response. Re-bars idealized Johnson-Cook plasticity damage model. defined classical following elastic-plastic constitutive laws. The responses NSC/UHPC/SFR-UHPC steel, considered discussed compared. Slabs made found offer promising combination materials withstand low-velocity load little extraordinary performance.
