Sine wave structures have potential applications in anti-collision devices because they reduce the initial peak crushing force (PCF) through active control of folds. However, stability structure during energy absorption needs to be improved. This study proposes a variable-amplitude wave-shaped tube inspired by squid fins at longitudinal direction and horsetail grass transverse direction. Under multidirectional loading quasi-static compression environment, specific capacity (SEA) factor (EASF) squid-fin-horsetail-inspired (SFHT) are evaluated investigating geometrical parameters (inner diameter, wall thickness, number connecting wings, sublayers). The results show that, although folding mechanism characteristic corrugated is changed when tubes reinforced with still ensures reduction PCF. Moreover, performance SFHT improved 170% compared traditional impact box. At same time, SEA optimized sublayers 1, inner diameter 0.5D, wings 6, while EASF stable under multi-directional load. In addition, has better more than other single-core multi-core boxes axial As additive manufacturing technology becomes popular, shows applied automotive systems or similar fields.

Auxetic metamaterials, characterized by their negative Poisson’s ratio, offer promising prospects for utilization in absorbing energy during quasi-static compressive loading as well applications requiring impact absorption. The optimization of auxetic structures’ geometrical parameters can improve performance. This research aims to optimize the design an structure maximum specific absorption and investigate its behavior under high-velocity loading. cross-petal are optimized using genetic algorithm a neural network surrogate model. is examined compared with that basic finite element simulations. then evaluated core sandwich panel, two plates placed front rear. Simulations projectile impacts at velocities ranging from 100 250 m/s reveal panel’s behavior. Results indicate 69.82% increase capacity In impact, panel optimal outperforms one core. At more than minimum perforation velocity, contributes about 64%–67% total absorbed panel.

Abstract The rapid development of radar detection systems has led to an increased sensitivity the electromagnetic (EM) scattering properties detected targets. Flexible and adaptable EM significantly enhance survivability battlefield weapons. This paper presents design a novel multifunctional metamaterial with reconfigurable based on bistable curved beam. In addition cushioning energy absorption beams, achieves more than 90% in frequency range 2.17–17.31 GHz, relative thickness only 0.09 λ L . nature allows it switch between different states. Moreover, combined digital coding, this can continuously adjust absorbing bandwidth further rate within specific band range. If applied satellite configurations, developed reduces cross section offers potential applications reconfiguring properties, when configurations. By actively controller reconstructing at certain points, achieve camouflage, providing innovative solutions for future stealth technology, electronic countermeasures, deception jamming detection.
