Cultural ecosystem services (CES) and disservices shape landscape planning policy to a huge extent. We focus on the benefits disbenefits associated with CES. The study aimed explore co-occurrence of CES as well relationship between spatial characteristics specific disbenefits. conducted map-based online questionnaire among visitors two urban green spaces in Kraków, Poland (Wolski Forest Jordan Park). Respondents were asked map places visited assign them using indicator statements. found three bundles (connection nature, social bonding nature responsibility) five seven (1). experiences (e.g., strengthening bonds) more concentrated whereas identities reflection) blurred spatially owing their individualistic (2). benefits/disbenefits features showed relatively weak correlation, discernible pattern observed case capabilities (3). perceived human-related (overcrowding, noise, rubbish), exhibiting greater geographical concentration, especially proximity tourist attractions (4). ecosystem-related (insects, allergies) less geographically (5). Furthermore, unveiled differences perception across seasons. Visitors warmer months expressed concerns about overcrowding, insects, allergies, while those exploring areas winter indicated challenges darkness snow-covered paths (6). These are important implications for management increase comfort visits spaces.

This study explores the economic benefits and challenges associated with biodegradable waste composting, highlighting its role in promoting sustainability through a circular economy framework. We reviewed relevant literature found 160 articles for this study, including keywords “Biodegradable waste”, “Compost production”, “Economic Potential”. Considering quality studies, we employed PRISMA technique to conduct comprehensive data synthesis evaluate 89 final review. Our findings highlight that composting offers significant advantages, reduction, cost savings management, carbon credit, source of nitrogen, job creation, reduced reliance on synthetic fertilizers. Further, it supports environmental by improving soil health, mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, reducing landfill use. However, such as high upfront costs, control, market competition chemical fertilizers remain barriers widespread adoption. The extends emphasizing integration into can foster innovation, enhance local economies, contribute climate change mitigation. Furthermore, promising pathway advancing sustainability. Future research should focus technologies, optimizing their applications, developing stronger policy frameworks ensure successful implementation practices.

In study, six counties under jurisdiction wetland China selected as research objects, a new framework analysis constructed, particle swarm optimization-dynamic deviation maximisation (PSO-DDM) method used to assess indicators' performance SE EE subsystems. The (CCD) model was then temporal spatial change patterns Wetland, thus revealing interaction mechanism wetlands. results study show that overall CCD has shown increasing trend over time, but it not reached excellent co-ordination at moment, which may be due slow result its special geographical location weak resource endowment. addition, industrial restructuring, increase vegetation cover investment pollution control have contributing effect CCD, while emissions urban sewage discharge significant inhibitory CCD. Urban greenspaces are multifunctional spaces, providing services to people and biodiversity. The understanding of urban social-ecological systems requires integrated and interdisciplinary methods. This paper explores differences in the accessibility green spaces (UGS) based on morphology. In contrast to other comparative analyses that followed simplified quantification UGS provision and/or omitted impact morphological properties space, this study proposes three improvements. First, it uses share service area 300 m walking distance around each residential building a city as measure provision. Second, includes potential physical warranted by key actors, such owners or managers, who decide whether are open not users. Third, links heterogeneous structures. We developed mixed-methods analysis combines multiple data sources regarding UGS, spatial distribution buildings, street networks. conducted our five case-study cities (Barcelona, Halle, Lodz, Oslo, Stockholm). Our findings suggest structures where human–environment interaction transformed space (such core areas) characterized limited area. Wild insect pollinators are essential to cultivated and natural ecosystems globally. Today, many pollinator species declining. One reason is a general lack of flowering habitats at landscape scales. However, urban areas, including private gardens, may provide flowers, constitute beneficial for pollinators. Here, we evaluate the ecological outcomes citizen science campaign run by Swedish Society Nature Conservation (SSNC) (called “Operation: Save bees”), encouraging citizens incorporate interventions wild (garden meadows, flower plantings, bee hotels) in their gardens. Data on observations plants were collected through online questionnaires end growing season. In total, received 3,758 responses three interventions. We found that participants more likely observe (as opposed few or none) rich garden larger older plantings. The surrounding environment also affected abundance: fewer observed plantings dense areas. Direct counts during 10-min surveys correlated strongly simplistic abundance assessment (none, few, insects seen over summer season). Bee hotel occupancy was positively related local availability age. Smaller nest holes (<10 mm) occupied than (11–15 hotels rural gardens natural/semi-natural sites those This study demonstrates flower-rich integral habitat programs can tool implementing evaluating conservation practices. longer lasting commitment resulting preferable should be encouraged future campaigns.
