Thromboembolism is the culprit of cardiovascular diseases, leading to highest global mortality rate. Anticoagulation emerges as primary approach for managing thrombotic conditions. Notably, sulfated polysaccharides exhibit favorable anticoagulant efficacy with reduced side effects. This review focuses on structure-anticoagulant activity relationship and underlying action mechanisms. It concluded that chlorosulfonicacid-pyridine method serves preferred technique synthesize polysaccharides. The linked substitution site sulfate groups, degree substitution, molecular weight, main chain structure, glycosidic bond conformation. Moreover, exert via various pathways, including inhibition blood coagulation factors, activation antithrombin III heparin cofactor II, antiplatelet aggregation, promotion fibrinolytic system.

Abstract Dynamic high‐pressure microfluidization (DHPM) is an emerging treatment technology and has been widely used for the recovery of natural polysaccharides. The aim present contribution to discuss DHPM‐assisted extraction processing polysaccharides from some foods by‐products by reviewing instrument working principle, procedures, key parameters, effects DHPM on structures, food properties, bioactivities resulting It was found that a with Z‐type chamber preferable extracting polysaccharides, Y‐type applicable solid‐to‐liquid ratio (or concentration), pressure, number passes are parameters influencing outcome processing. under suitable conditions conducive boosting yields enriching carbohydrates uronic acids in lowering protein impurities, transforming insoluble dietary fibers into soluble ones. In most cases, improved properties via decreasing viscosity, molecular weight, particle size, as well losing surface morphology. More importantly, mild technique barely affects chain backbones endowed enhanced antioxidant, hypolipidemic, hypoglycemic activities, exhibiting potential cardiovascular disease. addition, DHPM‐treated exerted certain whitening cosmetics inhibiting tyrosinase. conclusion, mild, efficient, green recover modify resources, especially by‐products. © 2025 Society Chemical Industry.
