Farmed animals produce excrement containing excessive amounts of toxic heavy metals as a result consuming compound feed well receiving medical treatments, and the presence these may aggravate risk spreading drug-resistance genes through co-selection during manure treatment application processes. However, research on association between antimicrobial resistance is still lacking. In this study, metagenomic sequencing was used to explore effects environmentally resistome in manure. A relevance network analysis showed that metal-resistance (MRGs), especially for copper (Cu) zinc (Zn), were positively correlated with multiple types antibiotic-resistance (ARGs) formed complex network. Most bacteria co-occurred both MRGs ARGs simultaneously are members Proteobacteria accounted 54.7% total microbial species The remaining belonged Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes Actinobacteria. Among four phyla, Cu- Zn-resistance had more correlations than other MRG types, reflecting occurrence ARG under selective pressure high Cu Zn levels. addition, approximately 64.8%, 59.1% 68.4% plasmids, viruses prophages, respectively, or Zn-resistant, they various ARGs, indicating mobile genetic elements participate mediating response pressure. results indicated use heavy-metal additives induces increases drug co-selection, aggravating diffusion from animal farm land applications.

Heavy metals (HMs) and microplastics (MPs) are two emerging factors threatening global food security. Whether long-term MPs pollution will affect the distribution of HMs their resistance genes (MRGs) in soil is unknown. Here, metagenomic approach was used to decipher fate MRGs cropland soils with film residues. Similar pattern formed contaminated soil. A total 202 MRG subtypes were detected, for Multimetal, Cu, As being most prevalent type MRGs. a modular five clusters centered on including ruvB also tight co-occurrence networks mobile genetic elements (MGEs: integrons, insertions plasmids). Redundancy analysis showed that together microbial communities MGEs affected Thirteen genera Pseudomonas identified as potential hosts MGEs. The research provides preliminary progress synergistic effect affecting ecological needs be considered remediation soils.
