One of the difficult and well-known pollutants that has a negative impact on human health is Microplastics (MPs). This study's primary goal to present state our understanding evidence, quantification, origin, effects MPs in Godavari River. According quantitative analysis investigation (digestion, separation, filtration, characterization), mean MP concentration river was found be 3.9 items/L (3900 Items/m3). were at all six sites, with concentrations ranging from 6.5 2.2 (6500–2200 items/m3). The most prevalent shape fiber (81.5 %), followed by foam (13.2%), fragments (4.4%), film (0.7%). colors observed blue (26%), Transparent (25%), pink (17%), yellow (9%), black (8%), white (6%), green (3%), red (2%), violet From chemical characterization ATR-FTIR, polymers detected polypropylene (PP), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), low-density (LDPE), (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) ABS, EVA, (polystyrene) PS, nylon. Urban areas have higher than less populated areas. Through direct or indirect consumption, River may risk agriculture, living beings. current study adds pollution provides baseline data can used assess precise mitigation.

Many studies have investigated how nanoplastics (NPs) exposure mediates nerve and intestinal toxicity through a dysregulated brain-gut axis interaction, but there are few aimed at alleviating those effects. To determine whether vitamin D can impact that toxicity, fish were supplemented with D-low diet D-high diet.Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) showed polystyrene (PS-NPs) accumulated in zebrafish brain intestine, resulting blood-brain barrier basement membrane damage the vacuolization of goblet cells mitochondria. A high concentration reduced accumulation PS-NPs tissues by 20% 58.8% 52.2%, respectively, alleviated pathological induced PS-NPs. Adequate significantly increased content serotonin (5-HT) anxiety-like behavior caused exposure. Virus metagenome affected composition abundance viruses. Differentially expressed viruses group secretion neurotransmitters zebrafish. AF191073 was negatively correlated neurotransmitter 5-HT, whereas KT319643 positively malondialdehyde (MDA) expression cytochrome 1a1 (cyp1a1) 1b1 (cyp1b1) intestine. This suggests may be key mediate reduction neurotoxicity immunotoxicity PS-NPs.Vitamin alleviate directionally altering gut virome. These findings highlight potential to brain-gut-virome disorder suggest therapeutic strategies reduce risk NPs aquaculture, is, adding adequate diet. Video Abstract.

Widespread polyethylene terephthalate microplastics (PET MPs) have played unintended role in nitrous oxide (N2O) turnovers (i.e., production and consumption) at wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Mainstream aerobic granular sludge (AGS) systems possess potentially strong N2O-sink capability, which may be reduced by PET MPs stress through altering N2O-contributing pathways, electron transfer, microbial community structures. In this study, the effects of with two common particle sizes effluent from WWTPs (0.1 0.5 mm) on N2O turnovers, pathways capability were systematically disclosed AGS a series biochemical tests molecular biological means to achieve goal carbon neutrality. The results indicated that 0.1 mm could more significantly stimulate inhibiting denitrifying metabolism, compared control systems. Specifically, slightly increased relative abundance Nitrosomonas, reducing yields via promoting hydroxylamine (NH2OH) oxidation pathway during nitrification. Also, inhibited transport system activities reductase, hindering reduction denitrification. Most importantly, apparently based ratio reductase gene nitrite gene.
