The aim of this study was to determine the concentrations 24 perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in South Han River assess human health risks exposure PFAS through ingestion water same river. Surface samples were collected March, June, September, December, 2023 at seven sampling sites Ten (PFBA, PFPeA, PFHxA, PFHpA, PFOA, PFMPA, PFMBA, PFBS, PFOS, GenX) detected PFBA, PFPeA predominant. highest concentration level river found S1 site, its total ranged from 691 1,021 ng/L. hazard quotient values four (i.e., did not exceed one-tenth World Health Organization’s acceptable level.

Short- and ultra-short chain perfluoroalkyl substances (S- US-PFAS) are alternatives for the long-chain PFAS which have been more regulated over time. They highly mobile in environment can easily reach drinking water sources become an important human exposure route. Furthermore, there growing concerns about presence of Flanders. Because this, to S- US-PFAS through Flemish was evaluated this study. For purpose, 2 S-PFAS (PFBS PFBA) 5 (PFPrS, PFEtS, TFMS, PFPrA TFA) investigated 47 tap samples, collected from different provinces, 16 bottled waters purchased Out 7 target PFAS, 4 (PFBA, PFBS, PFPrS PFEtS) were detected at concentrations above LOQ water. In water, only TFMS present its LOQ. all analysed samples ranged <0.7–7.3 ng/L <0.03–15.0 <0.9–12.0 PFBA. once LOQ, 0.6 ng/L. No significant differences seen among companies, nor between two types analyzed (natural mineral vs spring water). The use a commercial carbon filter significantly reduced median studied compounds Finally, it estimated that does not pose immediate threat health, as least orders magnitude below available guidance values.
