Heavy metal pollution treatment in industrial wastewater is crucial for protecting biological and environmental safety. However, the highly efficient selective removal of heavy ions from multiple cations a significant challenge. This work proposed pulse electrochemical method with low-/high-voltage periodic appearance to selectively recover complex wastewater. It exhibited higher recovery efficiency (100% Pb2+ Cd2+, >98% Mn2+) than other alkali alkaline earth (Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+ were kept below 3.6, 1.3, 2.6%, respectively) multicomponent solution. The energy consumption was only 34–77% that direct current electrodeposition method. results characterization experiment unveil mechanism can significantly suppress water-splitting reaction break mass-transfer limitation between electrodes.
