ABSTRACT Changes in water quality Dianchi Lake over a long temporal scale have been significantly influenced by climate change and policy issuance. This study utilized the Mann -Kendall test Theil -Sen estimation to examine trends at 10 monitoring sites within from 1989 2018. The corresponding impacts of policies, including point source (PS) non-point (NPS) pollution control, ecological restoration (ER), enforcement supervision (ES), along with climatic conditions, were evaluated. Analysis regression curves indexes indicates slight increase ammonia (NH4+-N) total nitrogen (TN), while phosphorus (TP), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), permanganate index (CODMn), chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) decreased baseline time (year 1989). During mid-phase (2001 -2006) period, policies on inconspicuous, temperature affecting Chl-a concentration variations. 11th Five-Year Plan, pollutants like NH4+-N, TN, TP, CODMn peaked then declined between 2009 2015, likely due comprehensive issuance NPS ER policies. can provide reference for management eutrophic lakes.

Traditional linear correlation analysis may not fully capture the true relationship between these variables. Therefore, multi-scale running analysis, such as time-dependent intrinsic (TDIC) and continuous wavelet transform based on Hilbert-Huang (HHT), provides valuable insights into local correlations evolving nutrients environmental factors over time. In this study, we investigated seven four water quality nutrient indicators in deep lakes Yungui Plateau southwestern China. The results revealed that there be strong levels during certain periods, while opposite trends emerge at other times. These variations could attributed to uncertain physical processes, spatial heterogeneity, or impact of different climatic hydrological processes. Wavelet indicated changes lag behind those levels, particularly a cycle about 12 months. This suggests align with natural patterns after body has been polluted. conclusions underscore complexity dynamic nature bodies, highlighting importance employing advanced techniques complexity.
