Due to the operation mode of traditional activated sludge systems, it is difficult for various functional bacteria exert their respective advantages. In this study, immobilized fillers hydrolytic acidification, nitrification, and denitrification were developed allow independent at each stage, enhancing nitrogen removal performance overall process. The results showed that ammonia total levels in effluent stabilized 0.75-0.83 1.5-2 mg/L, respectively, when hydraulic retention time (HRT) system was 6.4 h nitrification unit HRT 3 h. These values represented significant improvements compared with Unit tests revealed reducing hydrolytic-acidification 0 min increased nitrite nitrate A2 6.11 ± 0.2 mg/L 3.67 0.1 respectively. This demonstrates an active hydrolysis - acidification stage prerequisite fully utilize raw organic matter water remove nitrogen. When bypassed entered O1 directly, oxidation rate (AOR) significantly decreased (from 0.32-0.33 0.22-0.23 kg/m3 ⋅ d), further reduction a low temperature (down 0.11-0.12 d). At time, AOR, unaffected by matter, only slightly. indicates directing into essential maintaining stability resisting temperatures. process has certain guiding significance improving efficiency municipal wastewater processes.
