The presence of heavy metals in groundwater and wastewater has been a concern for health organizations. Background Chicken eggshells, a common poultry byproduct, are rich in calcium and provide sustainable source for producing oxide nanoparticles (CaO NPs). Their use eco-friendly synthesis aligns with the growing emphasis on materials environmental biomedical applications. Objectives: This study develops an method synthesizing CaO NPs from chicken characterizes their physicochemical properties, evaluates antibacterial antifungal activities. It also tests effectiveness removing heavy metal ions (Pb 2 ⁺, Cr Cd Hg ⁺) aqueous solutions. Methods were synthesized by calcining eggshells at 700°C 7 h. Comprehensive characterization included analysis of crystalline structure, morphology, optical bandgap energy, chemical composition, thermal stability.
