With the rapid development of China’s economy, urban domestic sewage and industrial wastewater treatment efficiency has improved, resulting in a significant increase sludge production. Thermal drying is essential for reducing, safely disposing of, resourcefully utilizing sludge. However, this process inevitably releases harmful pollutants, posing potential environmental risks that necessitate careful management. This work focused on thermal municipal at five temperature intervals (90–210 °C) examined impact calcium oxide properties. The results indicated higher temperatures increased rates, with optimal achieved 15% addition. Online detection NH3, H2S, CO, CH4 exhaust gas revealed pollutant generation was temperature-dependent. While addition had no effect CO emissions, it significantly inhibited H2S NH3. provided crucial insights into optimizing treatment, which improved mitigated release hazardous thereby reducing health associated disposal.
