The Canary Islands, renowned for their tourism appeal, grapple with a pronounced energy challenge stemming from geographic fragmentation and heavy reliance on external sources, particularly fossil fuels. Moreover, the region's history is marked by recurring crises, underscoring imperative need swift decisive transition towards renewable sources. This research examines potential of waste biomass as source in Islands. non-renewable sources leads to increased costs greenhouse gas emissions, making pursuit sustainable future strategic priority region. study proposes assess residual main crops such bananas, tomatoes, potatoes, grapes, bioenergy production. Statistical data were used estimate total availability residues, while parameters like residue-to-product ratio, moisture content calorific value determined calculate biomass. findings reveal that annual production primary Islands 234,744 tonnes (111,425 Tn/year banana cultivation, 52,961 tomato 40,102 potato 30,256 grape cultivation). has generate around 1.39 PJ energy, equivalent approximately 4.79% current consumption archipelago. Considering contribute only 20% this resource presents an exceptional opportunity By harnessing its natural resources, can pursue economic growth simultaneously mitigating negative environmental impacts. Definitely, assessment plays crucial role evaluating resources represents important step more

Biomass is a viable and accessible source of energy that can help address the problem shortages in rural remote areas. Another important issue for societies today lack clean water, especially places with high populations low rainfall. To both these concerns, sustainable biomass-fueled power cycle integrated double-stage reverse osmosis water-desalination unit has been designed. The system provided by 20% generated from bottoming cycles this allocation be altered based on needs freshwater or power. This assessed energy, exergy, thermoeconomic, environmental perspectives, two distinct multi-objective optimization scenarios are applied featuring various objective functions. considered parameters assessment gas turbine inlet temperature, compressor’s pressure ratio, cold end temperature differences heat exchangers 2 3. In first scenario, considering pollution index, total cost exergy products, efficiency as functions, optimal values are, respectively, identified 0.7644 kg/kWh, 32.7 USD/GJ, 44%. Conversely, second emission output net 0.7684 27.82 2615.9 kW.
