Hyaluronan (HA) is a ubiquitous macromolecule in the human body with remarkable structure and function. HA presents key role several biological processes mammals. The synthesis/catabolism of critical pathologies has been used as marker for prognosis cancers. Among its physiological roles, wound healing applications. This review reports many latest developments hyaluronan derivatives research, preclinical, published clinical trials healing. An adequate physico-chemical characterization identification selected properties prepared material are mandatory. Moreover, cytotoxicity evaluation effects vitro using standardized protocols required preclinical. Finally, to choose vivo models testing efficacy requested. Unfortunately, still not well understood. Therefore, an overview HA-based products provided discussed. Several ways chemical modification were evaluated. this focuses on containing HA, novel developments, gaps, limitations current state art.

The current work proposes the development of composite membranes based on bacterial cellulose (BC) loaded with silver (Ag) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures by in situ impregnation. research involves production purification BC, followed its loading different types phases help precipitating solutions, turmeric extract (green synthesis) ammonia (classic route). Additionally, combination both antibacterial agents into a single BC matrix to valorise benefits each, proposing novel BC-Ag-ZnO distinct characteristics, was explored. Overall, synthesis marked colour changes from light beige membrane dark brown, orange green for BC-Ag, BC-ZnO samples, which is proof successful composites formation. results proved that are attached as nanoparticles or nanosheets fibres, Ag being crystalline state, while ZnO showed rather amorphous structure. Regarding efficiency, obtained employing two solutions turned out be best material against tested Gram-negative Gram-positive strains.
