Releasing large quantities of volatiles is a defense strategy used by plants to resist herbivore attack. Oenanthe javanica, perennial herb the Apiaceae family, has distinctive aroma due volatile terpenoid accumulation. At present, complete genome and genetic characteristics terpenoids in O. javanica remain largely unclear. Here, telomere-to-telomere with size 1012.13 Mb contig N50 49.55 Mb, was established combining multiple sequencing technologies. Comparative analysis revealed that experienced recent species-specific whole-genome duplication event during evolutionary process. Numerous gene family expansions were significantly enriched biosynthesis process, monoterpenoid, diterpenoid pathways, which resulted abundant substance accumulation javanica. The showed repellent effects on herbivores. Terpenoid activated wounding signals under exogenous stimuli. TPS expanded compared those other species, members (OjTPS1, OjTPS3, OjTPS4, OjTPS5, OjTPS7, OjTPS16, OjTPS18, OjTPS30 OjTPS58) responsible for different functionally characterized. These results reveal evolution molecular process plant-herbivore interactions. This study also provides genomic resources biology research plants.

The nuclear factor-Y (NF-Y) transcription factor, also known as heme-activator protein (HAP) or CCAAT-binding factor (CBF), is a critical widely present in eukaryotes. number of NF-Y subunits has significantly increased higher plants compared to animals and fungi. complex composed three subunits: (1) NF-YA; (2) NF-YB; (3) NF-YC. NF-YB NF-YC contain histone fold domains (HFDs), which can interact with NF-YA other factors, directly bind the promoter CCAAT box regulate downstream genes. plays significant role various plant processes, including growth development. This review elucidates structural functional aspects subunits, identified complexes, their molecular regulatory mechanisms. Understanding these facets provides valuable insights into advancing crop genetic improvement promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Sophora tonkinensis Gagnep. has long been utilized in the treatment of anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving, with its principal active compounds being alkaloids flavonoids. NAC transcription factors, a large family plant-specific regulators, play pivotal roles growth, development, stress responses, secondary metabolism. However, comprehensive genome-wide characterization S. gene (StNAC) remains unexplored. This study identified 85 proteins from genome database. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that StNAC were categorized into 15 subgroups based on their homology Arabidopsis thaliana proteins. Gene structure demonstrated variation intron numbers ranging 1 to 7, majority genes containing 2-3 introns. Chromosomal distribution indicated an uneven spread across 9 chromosomes, highest number Chr3. Detection 4 tandem duplicates 32 segmental duplication primarily drive amplification. Prediction cis-regulatory elements suggested involvement hormone regulation. expression showed substantial variability different tissues. Notably, eight as significantly associated alkaloid flavonoid levels. qRT-PCR validation five highly expressed tissues, corroborating transcriptome data. These findings offer valuable insights for further functional potential biosynthesis tonkinensis.
