Abstract We recently reported that seletracetam (SEL), a highly potent derivative of levetiracetam (LEV), reduces or abolishes the photoparoxysmal electroencephalographic response (PPR) to intermittent photic stimulation (IPS) in patients with epilepsy. Most 27 this study were on comedication different antiseizure medications (ASMs). Here, we reanalyzed raw data clinical trial determine which, if any, ASMs reduced (or increased) effect SEL PPR individual patients. This was possible because group six not taking any ASM, and groups similar size received comedications. The standard photosensitivity range (SPR) calculated by area under curve from 0 8 h (AUEC [0–8]) as SPR change predose. All experienced PPRs IPS during placebo treatment, indicating resistant treatment their steady‐state ASMs. Oral single‐dose reduced/abolished most (32/36) exposures, but significant effects ASM found. Patients comedicated LEV + lamotrigine valproate exhibited significantly lower AUEC (0–8)s than without comedication, whereas no alone Despite reduction (0–8) LEV, still abolished majority (7/9) exposures.
