The effectiveness and safety of the instillation botulinum toxin A (BTX-A) remain subjects controversy. meta-analysis was performed to assess efficacy a novel intravesical BTX-A for managing overactive bladder (OAB) or interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). randomized controlled trials were retrieved from PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library databases up 29 January 2024. studies included in analysis focused on patients with OAB IC/BPS. data extraction independently conducted by two reviewers. random effects model utilized assessment order compute overall effect sizes. heterogeneity tests subgroup analyses conducted. did not reveal any statistically significant differences. However, results indicated that could reduce episodes urgency urinary incontinence (UUI) (overall weighted mean difference [WMD] = -0.85; 95% confidence interval [CI]: -2.99 1.29). In analysis, an increase void volume (VV) at 4 weeks follow-up (WMD -31.99; CI: -70.53 6.54) observed compared 12 -1.73; -16.98 13.53). contrast groups receiving more than 200 units BTX-A, group fewer -16.89; -41.14 7.35) exhibited significantly greater VV. appears be viable administration route may UUI VV some extent. terms safety, demonstrated reduced risk UTI post-void residual placebo group. https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/PROSPERO/view/CRD42024517877.

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) has potential to repair the orbital floor bone defects following craniofacial trauma and surgery. However, inertness of material impedes soft tissue integration implants, leading complications such as implant migration infection. Surface patterning modification on PEEK can promote surface hydrophily enhance better integration, but it is difficult obtain uniform controllable nano-structure. In this study, hot-pressing technology was used produce nanopores with a diameter 200, 500, 800 nm. Depending craft, surficial mechanical properties be regulated assessed by finite element analysis. Furthermore, 500 nm interface proliferation, migration, fibrosis fibroblasts achieved optimal effects in animal implantation experiments. To explore mechanism biological responses, transcriptomics molecular biology experiments revealed that Piezo1/TGF-β1 axis played critical role response cells stimulation PEEK. Our study established novel for constructing nanostructures PEEK, thereby promoting tissues implants improving anchoring effect.
