Background: China's relocated for poverty alleviation policy has played a pivotal role in eradicating extreme nationwide. However, adolescents relocating with their parents may face multifaceted challenges, including abrupt shifts living environments, the reconstruction of social capital, and psychological turbulence inherent to adolescence. Introduction Medical postgraduates generally experience high levels of depression and anxiety. Previous studies have investigated the impact various achievement motivations on depression/anxiety among medical students. Methods This study focused self-esteem perceived stress, examining internal mechanisms through which motivation affects depression/anxiety. 530 postgraduate students (66.04% female 33.96% male) were administered Achievement Goal Orientation Scale, Self-Esteem Perceived Stress Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale.
