Community
service
is
a
common
court-ordered
sanction
in
many
countries.
Individuals
sentenced
to
community
must
work
specified
number
of
uncompensated
hours
at
an
approved
agency,
typically
as
condition
probation.
A
core
expectation
that
the
agencies
benefit
from
this
labor.
However,
very
little
research
examines
organizational
and
interpersonal
dynamics
involved
when
organizations
with
workers.
What
are
local
public
nonprofit
organizations'
experiences
workers?
How
do
workers,
themselves,
experience
within
agencies?

address
these
questions
through
interviews
