Play-based observations allow researchers to observe autistic children across a wide range of ages and skills. We recorded playing with toys in the center room at corner table while caregiver remained seated off side used video tracking technology track children's movement location. examined how time spent regions whether or not they approached each region during play related their cognitive, social, communication, adaptive skills determine if child location can meaningfully demonstrate clinical variation among representing One significant finding was that who more toy-containing had higher cognitive language abilities, whereas those less levels autism-related behaviors. In contrast, lower daily living were quicker approach behavior These findings support use as complementary method measuring differences children. Furthermore, over 90% this study provided analyzable observation data, demonstrating allows all needs participate research attention without wearing any devices.

Interpersonal synchrony, the alignment of behavior and/or physiology during interactions, is a pervasive phenomenon observed in diverse social contexts. Here we synthesize across contexts and behaviors to classify different forms functions synchrony. We provide concise framework for classifying manifold synchrony along six dimensions: periodicity, discreteness, spatial similarity, directionality, leader-follower dynamics, observability. also distill various proposed interpersonal four interconnected functions: reducing complexity improving understanding, accomplishing joint tasks, strengthening connection, influencing partners’ behavior. These derive from first principles, emerge each other, are accomplished by some more than others. Effective flexibly adapts goals not always better. Our synthesis offers shared language field, allowing better cross-context cross-behavior comparisons, generates new hypotheses, highlights future research directions.

There is growing interest in understanding how sexual arousal unfolds between partners, and this may change over the course of a relationship face distress. To capture variable, dynamic, dyadic nature responding, paper introduces concept synchrony, defined as temporal, reciprocal, coordinated interchange partners' subjective genital arousal. Sexual synchrony key mechanism for partners experience adapt their responses they evolve time. Its relevance lies examining mechanisms that disrupt facilitate exploring it contribute to well-being by enabling mutually regulate within across interactions. The also discusses throughout development its potential role problems, offering valuable insights into improving relationships. Suggestions are provided future research, together with discussion methodological statistical issues involved when dynamics. Understanding jointly allows models which will inform treatments couples' (sexual) well-being. study exemplifies importance translational research relevant disciplinary borders.
