Autistic adults exhibit core and comorbid features that can have an impact on their daily functioning lead to considerable psychological distress. Significant consistent associations been identified between autism characteristics-restricted repetitive behaviors sensory features-and high levels of stress anxiety. For a better understanding the issue, it is necessary consider cognitive aspects help explain variations in anxiety among with autism. We therefore aimed model contributions worry intolerance uncertainty relationship characteristics (sensory sensitivities behaviors) distress (stress anxiety).

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a condition that gaining increasing interest in research and clinical fields. Due to the improvement of screening programs diagnostic procedures, an number cases are reaching attention. Despite this, available pharmacological options for treating ASD-related symptoms still very limited, while wide studies focused on children or adolescents, there need increase about treatment ASD adult subjects. Given this framework, work aims review literature treatments ASD, from older strategies possible new therapeutic targets condition, which often poorly responsive resources. The literature, besides confirming efficacy approved drugs shows lack adequate several psychopharmacological despite promising results be further investigated.

Background: Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a pervasive mental health condition characterized by heightened risk of suicidal behavior. Emerging research has suggested potential overlap between BPD and subthreshold autistic traits (ATs), raising the possibility that these may influence development, course, severity BPD, particularly in relation to ideation behaviors. This study aims evaluate relationship ideation, behaviors, ATs individuals with BPD. Methods: We assessed 106 subjects using mood spectrum self-report version (MOODS-SR) Adult Autism Subthreshold Spectrum (AdAS Spectrum) questionnaire. The sample was divided into three groups based on Non-parametric tests compared AdAS scores, while Spearman’s correlation relationships scores suicidality. Logistic regression analyses were conducted identify predictive domains for Results: Subjects behaviors showed significantly more features than non-suicidal subjects. Correlation analysis revealed all domains, except empathy, correlated both stronger correlations Moreover, restricted interests, rumination, sensory sensitivity emerged as significant predictors lack empathy predictor Conclusions: Our results confirm strong presence suicidality particular highlighting altered sensitivity, empathic deficits specific thoughts

Background Autistic traits (AT) seem to be particularly frequent among patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD). Moreover, the autism spectrum is considered a vulnerability factor for development of post-traumatic stress (PTSD) symptoms, increasing BPD subjects toward stress-related disorder. Aim The study aimed investigate association between AT and trauma-related symptoms in clinical sample BPD. Methods A total 48 diagnosis 52 healthy control (HC) were recruited assessed Adult Autism Subthreshold Spectrum Self-Report (AdAS Spectrum) questionnaire Trauma Loss Spectrum—Self-Report (TALS-SR). group was divided into two subgroups: symptomatological PTSD (pBPD = 25) not diagnosed (No-pBPD 23). Results scored significantly higher almost all AdAS domains. pBPD groups reported TALS-SR scores various domains than No-pBPD group, which several HC. Restricted interests rumination domain positive predictors presence independently from PTSD, while Inflexibility adherence routine negative predictor. Finally, Hyper/hyporeactivity sensory stimuli predictor only inclusion group. Conclusion Our confirmed existence statistically significant relationship BPD, show burden.
