Low sensitivity octahydro-1,3,4,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine (HMX) has garnered significant attention from researchers due to its reduced shock sensitivity. However, the crystallization process poses challenges high solidity and viscosity of metastable α phase. Despite efforts address this with additional energy sources like ultrasonic irradiation, prolonged exposure duration often results in small particle sizes, hindering production HMX a consistent size distribution, thus limiting applicability. To overcome these challenges, method combining irradiation trace H

A common issue in studies on liquid-phase chemical processes is that the natural solid nanoimpurities present reagent-grade chemicals are ignored. Little known about these impurities’ nature, sizes, concentrations, and behavior, yet they significantly affect efficiency of antiscalants municipal laboratory solutions. Recent research has focused on: (i) estimating nanoimpurity concentrations in-house deionized water semiconductor-grade isopropanol using “light sheet” optical ultramicroscopy, (ii) visualizing antiscalant sorption impurities. Using a fluorescent-tagged aminobis(methylenephosphonic acid) (ADMP-F), we tracked its affinity to particulate matter KCl Our study showed total concentration nanoparticles with size larger than 20 nm 106 units/mL 105 isopropanol. Extrapolation values ≥1 resulted 1011 108 units/mL. The addition or ADMP-F increased foreign nanoparticle populations. selectively adsorbed by only some impurities, while most molecules remain as true solution. To our knowledge, this first instance fluorescently labeled aminoalkylphosphonates being able differentiate traces purity Therefore, role crystallization centers should be seriously reconsidered, especially their important application scale inhibition.

ABSTRACT In semicrystalline polymers, the crystallization process plays a vital role in determining their properties. Differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) is conventional method for studying kinetics polymers but may lack sensitivity detecting antinucleating phenomena. This work applied rheological technique to detect effect of 3,4‐dihydroxyhydrocinnamic acid (hydrocaffeic [HCA]) on polycaprolactone (PCL). While DSC was useful HCA's ability reduce PCL's melting point, it could not polymer's during cooling cycle. Adding nucleating agent dibenzylidene sorbitol (DBS) did negate effect. Parallel plate rheology revealed that HCA caused fourfold reduction solidification time, with Avrami rate constants changing by 10 −3 times. Additionally, polarized optical microscopy visually demonstrated hindering PCL crystallization. Analyzing measurements and model proved successful while observing process.

Abstract A facile synthesis and application of photon upconversion (UC) probes, CuInS₂/ZnS quantum dots (nCIS QDs) is presented, which exhibits near‐infrared (NIR) spectral emission. The nCIS QDs are synthesized via a template‐assisted cation‐exchange reaction during heating process, resulting in NIR‐I emission with large Stokes shift (≈650 meV) high photoluminescence yield (PLQY, ≈0.95). This behavior attributed to mechanism that produces wurtzite crystal structure deep defect states, leading relatively long fluorescence lifetime (≈5 µs ). confinement effect allows for the light at different wavelengths by adjusting size nanocrystals. Moreover, their states facilitate UC self‐trapping triplet‐triplet annihilation mechanism. promising potential explored imaging, demonstrating high‐contrast NIR imaging under IR vision modules, even presence interference layers. It suggests applications surgical guidance future biomedical imaging.
