Multicolor-tunable room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) is attracting wide attention in optoelectronic applications. Here, we propose a coordination-oriented assembly approach to achieve wide-range RTP with benzimidazole derivative (2,7-diazabenzimidazole, DZBIM) as luminogen. These two compounds exhibit unexpected excitation-responsive emission, and the emission nearly covers entire visible region change of excitation wavelength from 360 620 nm.
