Pharmaceutical and Personal Care Products (PPCPs) have become a significant environmental concern due to their widespread use, persistence, potential toxicity, often referred as forever chemicals. This study aims develop validate robust in silico models for predicting the aquatic toxicity of PPCPs. To do so, we resorted ECOTOX database employed Python-based tool prepare curate dataset. Multitasking Quantitative Structure–Toxicity Relationship (mt-QSTR) were then developed employing Box–Jenkins moving average approach, incorporating both linear non-linear frameworks based on diverse feature selection algorithms machine learning techniques. further improve external predictivity, consensus modeling approach was also implemented. The most accurate model achieved an overall predictive accuracy exceeding 85%, providing valuable insights into structural features influencing PPCP toxicity. Key factors contributing high included lipophilicity, mass density, molecular mass, reduced electronegativity. work offers foundation designing safer PPCPs with impact, aligning sustainable chemical development goals.

Abstract Emerging constituents (ECs), which are referred to as contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) or contaminants, include pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs). ECs represent a growing challenge in wastewater treatment due their persistence, environmental impacts, potential health risks. This paper synthesizes findings from research focused on the behavior fate within Lander Street Water Renewal Facility (LSWRF). explores EC removal trends across processes, including physical settling, biological treatment, UV disinfection, highlighting varying efficiencies dependent constituent characteristics. Key observations significant reductions for some ECs, sequestering release behaviors, persistent concentrations others. Temporal spatial concentration variations LSWRF underscore influence seasonality facility-specific factors outcomes. The synthesis integrates these into unified framework understanding dynamics water renewal facilities, emphasizing need resilient adaptive infrastructure mitigate impacts. study provides critical insights guide future research, policy development, design sustainable systems.

Paracetamol (PCT) frequently contaminates natural water sources, posing potential risks to both human health and ecosystems. This study presents a computational investigation into the sensing capabilities of methylene-bridged [n]cycloparaphenylene ([n]MCPP, where n= 6, 8, 10) nanorings for detection paracetamol using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. It was found that stability PCT@[n]MCPP complexes increases with size [n]MCPP nanorings. The energy gap is significantly influenced by presence PCT drug, most substantial change (-44.79%) observed PCT@6MCPP complex. Additionally, non-covalent interaction (NCI) analysis reveals van der Waals forces predominantly govern interactions between calculated short recovery times favorable sensor response factors at 298 K suggest can be used as promising materials paracetamol. These findings underscore valuable candidates identifying eliminating drug from environment.

An experimental investigation was conducted from December 2023 to June 2024 at the beef farm of Haramaya University. The bulls were divided into two groups: one group received ivermectin treatment, while other acted as a control. SUMIVER brand administered subcutaneously 1 ml per 50 kg body weight. Dung samples both groups collected and prepared for analysis five-day intervals during eighth sampling period. results measured, documented, analyzed qualitatively quantitatively. All data entered using an independent t-test with STATA-14 software. In qualitative assessment, no dipteran larvae or pupae detected in dung samples, except round. However, various species invertebrates attracted freshly managed dung, resulting higher visitation rate control compared group. initial weeks study, presence residues affected beetle population. Conversely, treated showed significant infestation termites. After several weeks, pats invaded by ants, experiencing first. These findings suggest that released environment through cattle can influence negatively plant germination, fauna, soil fertility. Therefore, it is crucial veterinarians be knowledgeable about environmental side effects offer guidance livestock owners.
