Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a nephrotoxic mycotoxin that commonly contaminates maize, posing significant health risks to both poultry and humans. In this study, rapid sensitive method utilizing ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with fluorescence detection (UPLC-FLD) was developed for the quantification of OTA levels in maize. The utilizes immunoaffinity column purification improved specificity. Accuracy precision were validated line European Union Reference Laboratory (EURL-MP) guidelines, meeting regulatory standards linearity, trueness, limits, precision, uncertainty, as per Commission Regulation (EC) No. 401/2006 its amendments. demonstrated an average recovery rate 116.78% RSDwR values (within-laboratory reproducibility) 12.72%. Furthermore, occurrence possible effects investigated several farms South Romania, where necropsy histopathological analyses revealed severe kidney damage, including renal tubular degeneration.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to use a multi‐omics (i.e., gene expression quantification, metabolomics, and fatty acid [FA] profiling) approach separate authenticate beef from three different dietary groups. In 2‐year study, Red Angus steers ( n = 54) were randomly allocated one treatments: (1) complex biodiverse pasture (GRASS), (2) total mixed ration (TMR) in feedlot (GRAIN), or (3) TMR supplemented with 5% (dry matter) grapeseed extract for the last 30 days (GRAPE). FAs measured by gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC–MS), secondary metabolites identified using ultra‐high‐performance liquid chromatography tandem mass (UPLC–MS/MS), analysis performed quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT–qPCR). All target genes upregulated GRASS compared other two Multivariate analyses showed that long‐chain ‐3 polyunsaturated FAs, ‐6: ratio, vitamin E, organic acids, amino derivatives, nephronectin isoform X1 NPNT‐1 ) most important compounds group separation. These compounds, considered be beneficial human health, higher concentrations GRASS. success separation treatment highlighted 90.4% prediction accuracy random forest model, being 100% accurately predicted GRAPE 94.4% predicted. Beef GRAIN 76.5% conclusion, coupling metabolomics FA profiling allowed samples varying backgrounds high degree confidence.

The present study highlights the ongoing threat of foodborne illnesses to public health, primarily caused by bacterial pathogens. Despite advancements in conventional microbiological testing techniques, which are sensitive but time-consuming, challenges remain ensuring timely detection contaminants throughout food supply chain. Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system is recognized as a more effective approach safety, emphasizing proactive identification and control hazards at critical points production. Emerging technologies like quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) biosensors offer faster accurate methods, although with certain limitations. Biosensors such ELISA, SPR, electrochemical immunosensors, particular, show promise due their high sensitivity specificity, enabling rapid wide range contaminants. This paper underscores importance integrating advanced established safety protocols enhance quality products, benefiting consumers, producers, regulatory agencies alike.
