Abstract In this study, an innovative strategy is proposed to design porous ionic liquids (PILs) using lipophilicity differences, defined as type III‐B PIL, which overcomes the traditional size‐effect limitations in PIL design. An SBA‐15 confined high‐entropy single‐atom catalyst (HESAC@SBA‐15) with oleophobic internal surface was engineered framework and oleaginous 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate organic guest for constructing a novel (PILS‐B). This of PILS‐B combines exceptional gas storage capacity PILs high catalytic activity HESAC@SBA‐15. Additionally, mesoporous structure enhances mass transfer during reactions, thereby improving efficiency. Using aerobic oxidation aromatic sulfur compounds fuel oils model reaction, achieved desulfurization efficiency >99%. expands variety frameworks guests design, showcasing potential effective stable catalysts broader applications catalysis.

Published: Jan. 1, 2025

Mesophase pitch is a crucial compound platform for the production of various advanced carbon materials, with its quality significantly influenced by composition and structure precursor materials. Here, we present novel method preparing naphthalene oligomers (NOs), which serve as precursors preparation mesophase (MP) via polymerization catalyzed chloroaluminate ionic liquids (Al-ILs). Different from those obtained AlCl3-catalyzed method, NOs synthesized Al-ILs possess narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD, 200~600 Da) well-defined (di-, tri-, tetra-polymers naphthalene). When prepared were used precursors, resulting MP exhibited shorter polycondensation time (4 h), higher yield (68%), lower ash content (0.005%), more concentrated MWD, easier graphitization. These improvements are attributed to tunable acidity Al-ILs, facilitate at low reaction temperatures appropriate acidity, thereby improving controllability. This work provides flexible efficient pathway custom that potentially enable broader industrial applications MP.

Long-chain 1-alkanols and N-dodecyl-2-pyrrolidone (NDP) exhibit significant potential in the field of solvent extraction. Investigating their physicochemical properties is valuable for understanding mass transfer, heat fluid transport process. In this study, we investigated effect alkyl chain length (C4/C6/C8/C10) on NDP organic liquid mixtures. The densities viscosities were measured at temperatures ranging from 303.15 to 323.15 K atmospheric pressure. Excess properties, including excess molar volume (VmE), viscosity deviation (Δη), Gibbs free energy activation viscous flow (ΔG*E), calculated correlated by Redlich–Kister equation identify differences between real ideal solutions. It was found that steric hindrance increased with increasing C4 C10 1-alkanols, leading weaker molecular interactions Furthermore, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) UV–vis spectra confirmed presence intermolecular hydrogen bond −OH group –C═O NDP. Finally, conductor-like screening model realistic solvation (COSMO-RS) Gaussian further proved interactions. Overall, study reported a range both experimental theoretical perspectives, which can be used guide industrial production.
