Recently, an increasing number of metal complex catalysts have been developed to achieve the activation or transformation substrates based on cooperation between atom and its ligands. In such “cooperative catalysis,” ligand not only is bound metal, where it exerts steric electronic effects, but also functionally varies structure during elementary processes catalytic reaction. this review article, we focus metal–ligand involving aromatization dearomatization ligand, thus introducing newest developments examples homogeneous reactions.

The selective transformation of a less reactive carbonyl moiety in the presence more ones can realize straightforward and environmentally benign chemical processes. However, such is highly challenging because reactivity compounds, one most important functionalities organic chemistry, depends on substituents carbon atom. Herein, we report an Ir catalyst for hydrogenolysis urea derivatives, which are least affording formamides amines. Although formamide, as well ester, amide, carbamate substituents, considered to be than urea, proposed tolerated these groups reacted with chemoselective manner. chemo- regioselective allows development strategy recycling polyurea resins.

Abstract Metal‐ligand cooperativity (MLC) had a remarkable impact on transition metal chemistry and catalysis. By use of the calix[4]pyrrolato aluminate, [ 1 ] − , which features square‐planar Al III we transfer this concept into p ‐block fully elucidate its mechanisms by experiment theory. Complementary to metal‐based MLC ( aromatization upon substrate binding), binding in occurs dearomatization ligand. The aluminate trapps carbonyls formation C−C Al−O bonds, but products maintain full reversibility outstanding dynamic exchange rates. Remarkably, bonds can be formed or cleaved addition removal lithium cations, permitting unprecedented control over system's constitutional state. Moreover, metal‐ligand cooperative interaction allows twist kinetics catalytic hydroboration reactions unique sense. Abstract The steric tuning of a tridentate acridane‐derived NNN pincer ligand allows for the isolation strictly T‐shaped phosphine that exhibits ambiphilic reactivity. Well‐defined phosphorus‐centered reactivity towards nucleophiles and electrophiles is reported, contrasting with prior reports on this class compounds. Reactions oxidants are also described. latter result in two‐electron oxidation phosphorus atom from +III to +V accompanied by strong geometric distortion ligand. By contrast, cooperative activation E−H (HCl, HBcat, HOMe) bonds proceeds retention redox state. When using H 2 O as substrate, reaction results full disassembly its constituent atoms, highlighting potential platform small molecule reactions.
