The interpretation of data and optimization spectral acquisition dissolved organic matter (DOM) by ultrahigh-resolution Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) have been challenging due to the varied instrument performances among laboratories complex chemical characteristics DOM. However, a universal strategy for FT-ICR MS spectra is still unavailable. results this study showed that number, intensity, resolving power all assigned peaks increased with accumulation time (IAT) DOM concentrations within reasonable range. space-charge effect induced excess ions in ICR cell can deteriorate quality spectra, which could be inspected examining errors intensity deviation monoisotopic 13C-isotopic based on pattern. maximum absolute error pattern-based are two critical criteria inspecting effect, was suggested 2.0 ppm 20%, respectively. Therefore, novel pattern has proposed optimize their wide occurrence signals. This laid fundamentals method development extended different instruments various mixtures.
