Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions in High Rate Algal Ponds (HRAP) can negatively affect the sustainability of algal-bacterial processes. N2O from a pilot HRAP devoted to biogas upgrading and digestate treatment were herein monitored for 73 days. The influence pH (7.5, 8.5, 9.5), nitrogen sources (100 mg/L N-NO2-, N-NO3-, N-NH4+) illumination on biomass was also assessed batch tests. Significantly higher gas concentrations 311.8 ± 101.1 ppmv recorded dark compared illuminated period (236.9 82.6 ppmv) HRAP. tests revealed that highest emission rates (49.4 mmol g-1 TSS·h-1) occurred at 8.5 presence 100 mg N-NO2-/L under conditions. This study significant HRAPs during darkness.

With the proposal of dual carbon goals, enhancing sinks and reducing emissions has become a critical issue. Fisheries, as component agriculture, possess attributes being “carbon sink” (biological fixation) source” (the from fishing vessels). Therefore, it is necessary to assess sink emission levels fisheries. The northern marine economic circle, which includes Liaoning, Hebei, Tianjin, Shandong, an important site for fisheries in China, characterized by abundant aquatic resources. However, comprehensive assessment budget this region still unclear. This study calculated sinks, emissions, net associated with 2013 2020. Additionally, we used sensitivity analysis scenario simulation explore factors influencing emissions. results revealed that circle was deficit amount higher than sinks) downward trend observed, indicating potential achieving neutrality. From perspective provinces, significant differences among provinces (cities) were found terms Shandong having largest Furthermore, production clams use seawater trawl have impact on Increasing while power trawling operations can significantly decrease Based these results, provides relevant suggestions enhance capacity circle.
