Conventional detection technologies for environmental contaminants have primarily focused on providing accurate qualitative and quantitative evaluations single pollutant types, leading to increased costs an inability satisfy the growing demand detecting a broader spectrum of pollutants. Here, we introduced novel analytical method simultaneously measure concentration levels diverse pollutants, characterized by their distinct properties, across complex biological samples. Per- polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) antibiotics were used as case study due frequency in environment known impacts Our harnesses salting-out effect sodium chloride proteins within muscle tissues 178 marine species, which significantly reduces addition extraneous substances, mitigates matrix interference, avoids reliance solid-phase extraction or dispersive agents. The provides simultaneous pretreatment several compounds, with limits from 0.002 0.41 ng/g dry weight, are substantially lower than conventional methods. Overall, this streamlines efficiency, decreases costs, lessens effects, sets solid groundwork future applications concurrent environmentally pertinent pollutants varied characteristics.

Antibiotics are extensively utilized in the livestock and poultry industry can accumulate animals environment, leading to potential health risks for humans via food water consumption. Research on antibiotic toxicity, particularly their impact as endocrine disruptors male reproductive system, is still its nascent stages. This review highlights toxic effect of antibiotics detailing common routes exposure detrimental mechanisms various classes. Additionally, it discusses protective role food-derived active substances against toxicity induced by antibiotics. aims raise awareness about males outline challenges that must be addressed future research.

Abnormal development and mortality in early life stages pose significant threats to the growth continuation of fish populations. Tris(2,4-di-tert-butylphenyl) phosphate (TDtBPP) is a novel organophosphate ester contaminant detected natural waters. However, potential effects maternal exposure TDtBPP on offspring embryos remain unknown. Here, 30-day-old zebrafish were exposed at 0, 50, 500, or 5000 ng/L for 180 days, females spawned with unexposed males. accumulation was embryos, accompanied by an increased malformation rate mortality. The developmental abnormality identified originate from gastrula stage. Furthermore, based transcriptome analysis, down-regulation RHO family interacting cell polarization regulator 2 gene (ripor2) considered as key toxic event, this confirmed subsequent knockdown experiment. Moreover, molecular docking studies forkhead box O1 (foxO1) transcription factor inhibitor (AS1842856) experiments demonstrated that blockade foxO1 transcriptional regulation responsible decreased expression ripor2. results study occurrence following triggered consequent

Antibiotics are extensively used in aquaculture to treat and prevent bacterial diseases, but their application can lead negative side effects such as immunosuppression. Oxytetracycline (OTC) is a widely antibiotic for treating diseases due its broad‐spectrum activity economic advantage. This study appraises the of OTC treatment on immune response European sea bass ( Dicentrarchus labrax , L. 1758) by assessing immune‐related gene expression, serological parameters, hematological histological findings. Fish were divided into three groups: control (fed with nonsupplemented OTC), 75 mg kg −1 day feed, 100 feed 21 days. Blood tissue samples collected analysis 4th, 7th, 10th, 14th, 21st feeding. The results showed decrease parameters nitro blue tetrazolium (NBT) positive cell, total white blood cells (WBCs), serum lysozyme activity, Ig‐M levels, complement OTC‐fed fish, while genes Lys-g Ig-M interleukin IL )‐ 1β C3 major histocompatibility complex [ MHC ] –IIα ) significantly downregulated kidney spleen tissues, especially prolonged exposure. hypothesized that long‐term use antibiotics fish disrupts functioning system. As result study, hypothesis was confirmed, using longer than normal period or high doses caused changes system made more susceptible other pathogens.
