Abstract Background Biochar is widely recognized for its capacity to capture and store carbon in soil attributed stable structure. However, most field studies examining the effects of biochar application on respiration, impact rainfall events experimental outcomes has not been taken into account. To address existing gap this research field, we conducted a one-year study respiration an urban camphor forest collected data temperature, moisture, closest monitoring time. We specifically examined how different stages influenced relation application. Results This found that annual average rate increased with doses application, under at dose 45 t/ha showed significant rise. The events, amount, interaction effect two, significantly affected respiration. parameters regression model temperature moisture varied eliminated during one day after events. correlation between sensitivity ( Q 10 ) was by both more than eight days Conclusions Our findings indicated rice straw short-term positive forests. affect monitored applications, possibly affecting response experiments should be considered future management practice.
