Abstract Ultraviolet‐ C irradiation can effectively disinfect various pathogens present in air, surfaces, and water. Various recent research studies suggest use of KrCl* (krypton‐chloride) excimer lamps to high‐risk public spaces having pathogenic bateria viruses, as they emit Far‐UVC radiation (222 nm) with lower health risks than germicidal UVC (254 nm). The purification water air pollutants is a critical challenge environmental protection assurance. have shown potential decontaminating organic pollutants, however, their efficacy against inorganic wastewater indoor well associated chemistry requires further investigations for wider acceptance. Upcycling organic and inorganic waste into value-added metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) presents a sustainable strategy for mitigating pollution promoting economic viability. However, rapid synthesis of MOF materials derived from actual industrial under mild conditions remains challenging. Herein, Fe-MOF MIL-88B(Fe) was successfully fabricated within 1 h at room temperature using galvanizing pickling liquid terephthalic acid poly(ethylene terephthalate). The resulting (s-MIL-88B(Fe)) employed to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) UV light irradiation, achieving over 87% degradation tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) 15 min. effects the reaction parameters on TCH were thoroughly investigated. s-MIL-88B(Fe) demonstrated good stability reusability, maintaining 96% initial activity after five cycles. system also adaptability various pollutants water matrices. Radicals (SO4–•) nonradicals (1O2, h+) identified as key reactive species promoted degradation. formation mechanism pathway are proposed.
