Abstract Micropollutants (MPs) pose a significant threat to global water environments, necessitating advanced treatment technologies. Distributed electrochemical systems utilizing electrified membranes (EMs) show promise but face challenges due unclear mass transfer and reaction mechanisms within membrane pores of varying sizes surface chemistry. This review examines the interplay between spatial confinement, transfer, chemical reactions in EMs, focusing on reactive species (RSs), EM‐MPs system evolution, phenomena across pore from microns sub‐nanometer scales. Despite advances RS research, coherent mechanistic understanding MP degradation under confinement remains elusive, particularly extreme where deviate bulk behavior. Gaps knowledge stem complex dynamics, thermodynamics kinetics, need for detailed theoretical describe effects. summarizes generation detection methods RSs, outlines progress EM operational modes, elucidates how impacts both reactions. Future research shall focus precise identification quantitative regulation optimization processes relation RSs MPs, investigation active sites energetic barriers confined environments.

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a critically important, vital biomarker and hence highly relevant analyte in broad range of bioanalytical applications. The most recent trends furthering the ability its reliable, reproducible, sensitive quantification include development non-biological enzyme mimics, investigation smartphone cameras as transducers detectors, continued semi-reversible reversible detection strategies. While catalysts offer stability-related advantages over enzymes while providing equally good limits detection, critical questions regarding toxicity, persistence, (bio)accumulation, overall environmental footprint need to be answered. In case heavy metal-based strategies replacement by non-toxic, renewable alternatives should an obvious research need. Signal recording has seen dramatic change toward smartphones, with their ever-improving computing image-acquisition abilities. As breath nitric oxide (NO) is a biomarker of respiratory inflammation, reliable techniques for the online detection ppb-level NO in exhaled are essential noninvasive diagnosis inflammation. Here, we report sensor based on multiperiodic spectral reconstruction neural network. First, method that transforms spectrum from wavelength domain to intensity proposed remove noise and interference signals spectrum. Different traditional processing domain, enhances absorption characteristics target gas while discretizing signals. This facilitates extraction Then, network built detect concentration NO. Laboratory-based results show enables (1.63–846.68 ppb) with mean absolute error (MAE), percentage (MAPE), accuracy 0.31 ppb, 0.96% 0.63%, respectively. Furthermore, an actual exhalation experiment proved capable distinguishing healthy people simulated patients, which provides way realize optical methods medical field.

Chemiluminescence (CL) as a powerful analytical tool has garnered increasing interest. However, traditional molecular-based CL luminophores suffer from low emission efficiency due to limited total photons emitted per luminophore, driving efforts explore amplified strategies or novel probes boost the emission. Although metal nanoclusters (NCs) luminescent nanoprobes have been extensively studied for electrochemiluminescence and photoluminescence (PL) owing their intriguing properties, performance using NCs emitters is often ignored. Herein, based on synergistic effect within bimetallic NCs, series of glutathione-coated Au-Ag (GSH-AuAg NCs) were optimized by adjusting precursor ratios achieved maximum response at Au:Ag molar ratio 5:1. To our surprise, with GSH-AuAg was triggered oxidant reagents such KMnO4, display boosted (ca. 6.2-fold) compared monometallic enhancing efficiency. Surface-defect-involved revealed collecting spectra wavelength around 750 nm an obvious red shift 140 PL spectra. The mechanism reveals KMnO4-injected hole into valence band through redox reactions GSH ligands, leading efficient radiative charge recombination pre-existing electron. A sensing platform NCs/oxidant system constructed H2O2 glucose, demonstrating potential in applications.
