Prometryn is an herbicide widely used in agriculture. Its degradation-resistant properties have raised concerns about its environmental impact on aquatic systems, yet distribution and bioaccumulation remain to be explored. This research examined the of prometryn within lab-simulated ecosystems, incorporating water-sediment interactions tilapias ( Oreochromis niloticus ) Asian clams Corbicula fluminea ). The aims explore dynamics across both biotic abiotic components ecosystem, providing a comprehensive understanding persistence accumulation organisms sediments. ecosystems were exposed concentration 0.50 mg/L for 35 days. During experiment, significant adsorption retention sediment observed, suggesting that could primary repository. Additionally, not only served as accumulative pools but also influenced ecosystems. In terms bioconcentration, highest bioconcentration factors observed liver visceral mass clams, strong affinity these tissues. persistently high levels indicate potential risks aquaculture product safety. study concludes with recommendation ongoing ecological risk assessments, particularly regarding benthic organisms, given propensity accumulate systems.
