Woody plants have received considerable attention for the phytoremediation of heavy metal-contaminated soil. This study aimed to investigate changes in antioxidant enzyme activity, macroelement uptake and microstructure woody plant Robinia pseudoacacia (black locust) cadmium (Cd) lead (Pb) co-contaminated soil based on dynamic sampling. The results show that black locust demonstrates strong tolerance Cd Pb After 30-120 days cultivation, activities superoxide dismutase, peroxidase (potassium [K] calcium [Ca]) content leaves significantly declined response Pb. However, after 160 d activities, chlorophyll, sulfhydryl soluble protein contents, as well Ca magnesium were returned normal levels under 40 mg kg-1 1000 contaminated (CdPb3). Meanwhile, K CdPb3 treatment was (P < 0.05) increased by 68.9% compared with control. Cadmium primarily accumulated roots. Scanning electron microscope analysis indicated sieve tubes roots stems might block transport Transmission number volume osmiophilic particles cell walls thickened stress. Path further growth related macroelements physiological change (photosynthesis, activity chelation). Thus, could effectively regulate defense system, absorption enhance Moreover, maintain urease, acid phosphatase sucrase These findings suggest be considered a useful phytostabilization Cd- Pb-contaminated

Red mud has been demonstrated to improve the methane production performance of anaerobic digestion (AD). However, influence red on ammonia nitrogen inhibition during AD through mediating role bacteria–phages interactions in this process remains poorly understood. Thus, study investigated impact metabolism and characterized phage prokaryotic communities a metagenomic analysis. The results showed that significantly increased by 23.1% promoted conversion into organic nitrogen, resulting 4.8% increase total nitrogen. Simultaneously, it enriched key microbial genera Methanothrix, Proteinophilum, Petrimonas 0.5%, 0.8%, 2.7%, respectively, suggesting an enhancement syntrophic acetate oxidation with greater tolerance. A viral analysis identified seven nitrogen-metabolism-related auxiliary metabolic genes (AMGs), glnA (encoding glutamine synthetase) being most abundant. Compared control treatments, treatments led higher abundance temperate phages number AMGs. Furthermore, two new hosts carrying (Mycolicibacteria smegmatis Kitasatopola aureofaciens) were predicted, indicating expanded host range spread Overall, our findings highlight importance alleviating provide novel understanding swine manure.

Dissolved organic matter (DOM) plays important roles in the global carbon cycle and aquatic ecosystem health. Estuaries are critical zones connecting land ocean which DOM experiences dispersion, transformation, degradation, deposition, etc. The Water-sediment regulation scheme (WSRS) was implemented Yellow River (YR) approximately half of annually sediment a quarter water were poured into estuary around 20 days. Meanwhile, huge amounts discharged (YRE) rapidly, but their processes fates YRE adjacent seas unclear. This study aims to investigate molecular spectrum compositions its associated transformation mechanisms sea before (from June 8 12, 2022) after July 18 22, WSRS. A relatively greater amount highly unsaturated compounds terrestrial-derived found with higher aromaticity humification degree WSRS, by bulk geochemical techniques, optical spectroscopy Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) techniques. High levels less photodegraded estuarine region due rapidly pouring fresh YRE. high suspended concentration facilitates sorption dissolved (DOC), especially those sulphur-containing decreased both relative intensity number. However, long term, WSRS may lead an increase DOC column. Along YR plume coastal current, transported from Laizhou Bay south arrived at Bohai Strait east. Overall, this research provides valuable insights variations induced intensive dam-orientated short term.
