Interaction of phenol and naphthol with reduced graphene oxide (rGO), their competitive behavior on rGO were examined by batch experiments, spectroscopic analysis theoretical calculations. The sorption showed that the removal percentage or in bisolute systems was significantly lower than those single-solute systems. However, overall capacity system higher system, indicating a very suitable material for simultaneous elimination organic pollutants from aqueous solutions. interaction mechanism mainly π–π interactions hydrogen bonds, which evidenced FTIR, Raman calculation. FTIR blue shift C═C −OH stretching modes enhanced intensity ratios ID/IG after phenols sorption. calculation indicated total bond numbers, diffusion constant solvent accessible surface area phenol, affinity as compared to phenol. These findings valuable elucidating mechanisms between graphene-based materials, provided an essential start organics wastewater.
