The limited characterization and detection capacity of unknown compounds hinder our understanding the molecular composition toxic in PM2.5. present study applied Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry coupled with negative positive electrospray ionization sources (ESI–/ESI+ FT-ICR-MS) to probe characteristics dynamic formation processes effective proinflammatory components organic aerosols (OAs) PM2.5 Guangzhou for one year. We detected abundant molecules OAs, mainly classified as CHON (compounds composed C, H, O, N atoms) elemental nitroaromatic (NACs) structures. From perspective process, we discovered that these molecules, especially NACs, were largely driven by secondary nitrate biomass burning (in emission source), well SO2 atmospheric evolution). In addition, results indicated had replaced primary main contributing source OAs. This highlights importance community measures control production derived from urban areas.

Abstract Maternal exposure to fine particulate matter (PM 2.5 ) is associated with adverse pregnancy and neonatal health outcomes. To explore the mechanism, we performed mRNA sequencing of cord blood. From an ongoing prospective cohort, Air Pollution on Pregnancy Outcome (APPO) study, 454 pregnant women from six centers between January 2021 June 2022 were recruited. Individual PM was calculated using a time-weighted average model. In APPO age-matched blood samples High (˃15 ug/m 3 ; n = 10) Low (≤ 15 30) groups randomly selected for sequencing. After selecting genes differential expression in two ( p -value < 0.05 log2 fold change > 1.5), pathway enrichment analysis performed, mitochondrial analyzed MitoCarta3.0. The risk preterm birth (PTB) increased every 5 µg/m increase second trimester (odds ratio 1.391, 0.019) after adjusting confounding variables. gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) 1.238, 0.041) third 1.290, 0.029), entire 1.295, 0.029). mRNA-sequencing showed that related activity (FAM210B, KRT1, FOXO4, TRIM58, FBXO7) PTB-related (ADIPOR1, YBX1, OPTN, NFkB1, HBG2) upregulated group. addition, high affected oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) proteins electron transport chain, subunit OXPHOS. These results suggest during may PTB GDM, dysregulate genes. Alterations OXPHOS by occur not only infants but also normal newborns. Further studies larger sample sizes are required.
