The
influence
of
dopant
molecules
on
the
structure
and
functionality
spin-crossover
(SCO)
materials
is
surveyed.
Two
aspects
topic
are
well
established.
Firstly,
isomorphous
inert
metal
ion
dopants
in
SCO
lattices
a
useful
probe
energetics
processes.
Secondly,
molecular
alloys
iron(II)/triazole
coordination
polymers
containing
mixtures
ligands
were
used
to
tune
their
spin-transitions
towards
room
temperature.
More
recent
examples
these
related
discussed
that
reveal
new
insights
into
questions.
Complexes
which
not
can
also
be
co-crystallised,
either
as
solid
solutions
precursor
or
random
distribution
homo-
hetero-leptic
centres
alloy.

could
powerful
method
manipulate
functionality.

The
integration
of
polyoxometalate
(POM)
anions
with
functionalized
cations
within
a
single
molecule
remains
challenging
task,
even
though
POMs
have
garnered
significant
interest
over
an
extended
period.
Here,
we
constructed
two
cobalt(II)
complexes
by
incorporating
isomeric
POM
[Co(pyterpy)2]2+.
Intriguingly,
locked
high-spin
(HS)
state
and
spin-crossover
(SCO)
behavior
the
3d7-CoII
ion
in
identical
cation
[Co(pyterpy)2]2+
were
governed
α-type
β-type
[Mo8O26]4-
anions,
HS-Co(II)
showed
field-induced
slow
magnetic
relaxation.
Furthermore,
both
exhibited
potential
as
solid-state
proton
conductors.
This
study
revealed
that
possessed
dual
capability
modulating
magnetism
synthesizing
multifunctional
molecular
materials.

were
synthesized
and
characterized.
Single‐crystal
X‐ray
diffraction
analyses
revealed
that
–
both
present
the
structure
based
on
4‐VP
coordinated
with
bis(salicylicdeneaminopropyl)amine
its
derivatives,
which
give
2D
architectures
by
various
interactions
among
cations
counter‐ions.
Magnetic
studies
showed
exhibit
one‐step
complete
spin‐crossover
(SCO)
behaviours
critical
transition
temperatures
(
T
1/2
of
178
87
K
respectively,
while
exhibits
incomplete
spin
crossover
behaviour
1/2,3
=93
K).
The
introduction
methyl
groups
amine
nitrogen
Schiff
base
ligands
in
bigger
repulsive
effect,
further
decrease
cooperation
centres,
resulting
their
occurring
at
lower
temperatures.
In
addition,
presence
C−H⋯O
weak
synergistic
led
to
being
higher
than
.

electrolyte

chain
backbone
vertex-sharing
TBPs
alongside
