Abstract Near‐infrared (NIR) phosphors are a vital component of phosphor‐converted light‐emitting diodes (pc‐LEDs), with simultaneous high quantum efficiency and thermal stability being essential attributes for optimal performance. In this paper, novel ZnAlB (1‐ x ) Ga O 4 :0.05Cr 3+ system is designed by gradually substituting B Ga. Surprisingly, significant enhancement in photoluminescence performance observed, reaching peak at = 1. Further development led to series ZnAlGaO : y Cr (ZAGO: phosphors, exhibiting variable full width half maximum (FWHM) ranging from 32 163 nm increasing content, attributed energy transfer between two emission centers. Among these, ZAGO:0.05Cr emerges as the phosphor, boasting internal/external 80%/34% FWHM 80 nm. Notably, phosphor demonstrates anti‐thermal quenching behavior (125.53% @ 423 K), its exceptional elucidated through defect level model. The fabricated NIR pc‐LEDs featuring ZAGO:Cr show great prospect multifunctional applications plant cultivation, night vision, non‐destructive analysis veins imaging.

As a key material for phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes (pc-LEDs) applications, broadband near-infrared (NIR) phosphors currently face poor thermal stability issues. In this work, we synthesized phosphor YGa3(BO3)4: Cr3+ (YGBO: Cr3+) with high stability. The YGBO: sample exhibits emission centered at 770 nm full width half-maximum (fwhm) of 2130 cm–1 under blue light excitation. Benefiting from the borate host crystal's strong structural rigidity, wide optical band gap, and weak electron–phonon coupling strength, demonstrates luminescence stability, corresponding intensity can maintain 80% 150 °C compared to room temperature. Furthermore, fabricated pc-LED device using chip phosphor, confirmed its application potential as source in spectral analysis fruit freshness.
