As an emerging class of hybrid materials, donor–acceptor (D–A) crystals with photoactive organic and inorganic components have gradually become ideal platform for photochromic materials. Wherein the most available are electron-poor naphthalenediimide, pyridinium, triazine derivatives, units electron-rich polyoxometalates metal halides. Herein, we introduced pyridinium moieties into naphthalenediimide core by conjugated bonds so as to increase electron deficiency species enhanced properties. Four anion-π interaction directed crystals, (Me2DPNDI)3·(PW12O40)2 (1), (Et2DPNDI)3·(DMSO)2·(PMo12O40)2 (2), (Et2DPNDI)3·(PW12O40)2 (3), (Et2DPNDI)2·(SiMo12O40) (4), been obtained, which possess reversible, naked-eye perceptible color changes varying light response rates. These rates follows: 3 > 1 4 2. expected, such D–A naphthalenediimide-pyridinium salts feature both photo- thermally induced transfer pathways, along interactions. Consequently, they demonstrate a higher rate photochromism compared those hybrids containing or derivatives acceptors.

Abstract Based on the mixed ligands of 1,4‐bis(2,4,6‐tricarboxylpyrid‐5‐yl)benzene (H 6 BTPB) and 1,4‐bis(imidazol‐1‐yl)benzene (bib), a new cadmium(II) coordination polymer with molecular formula {[Cd(bib)( μ 2 ‐H O)(H O) ](H 4 0.5 (bib) } n (CdCP) was constructed under solvothermal condition, displayed 3D supramolecular structure expanded by hydrogen bonds between 1D [Cd(bib)( ] ladder chain guests. Profiting from its superior stability inherent luminescence, prepared CdCP dispalyed great potential as highly sensitive selective luminescent sensor in trace detection 3‐NT biomarker both water real bodily fluids through luminescence quenching effects, K sv LODs being 2.408×10 5 M −1 30.3 nM water, 2.230×10 44.7 diluted urine, 2.249×10 43.9 serum, respectively. Subsequent mechanism studies indicated synergistic effect internal filtering effect, photo‐induced electron transfer, fluorescence resonance energy transfer determining response towards biomarker.

Three POM–viologen compounds were synthesized at a temperature of 120 °C by traditional hydrothermal technique, namely (1-Cby)·(1,1′-Bby)·[(α–PW11O39)NiII(1-Cby)]·7H2O (PW11Ni-BCby), (1-Cby)·(1,1′-Bby)·[(α-PW11O39)CuII(1-Cby)]·6H2O (PW11Cu-BCby), and (1-Cby)2[H5(α-PW11O39)2Zn2II(1-Cby)2]·27H2O (PW11Zn-Cby) (1-Cby·Br = 1-cyclopropylmethyl-4,4′-bipyridinyl-1-ium bromide; 1,1′-Bby·Br 1,1′-bis(cyclopropylmethyl)-4,4′-bipyridine bromide). All three contain PW11M (M Ni, Cu, Zn), transition metal M-substituted monosubstituted Keggin-type structure. These can exhibit variety excellent properties to stimulate discoloration in light, heat, electricity. Moreover, PW11Cu-BCby PW11Zn-Cby be applied inkless erasable printing dual anticounterfeiting applications based on their photochromic behaviors.
